The International Capital Markets Services Association (ICMSA) is the London-based trade association for all institutions providing services to the international capital markets. They foster the highest standards among the law firms, banks and stock exchanges who comprise their membership. They came to us because they wanted an updated website which more accurately reflected the success of their brand and offered the kind of “sticky content” which would keep members coming back.
It was clear to us that we had to refresh the website’s look and feel to give a more contemporary expression to the brand. However, there was a deeper dimension to the brief. What was actually required here was a radical overhaul of the site’s usability, content and functionality to cement the relationship with users and bring it into the 21st century.
“It was a joy working on the visual design of the ICMSA website,” says Consider’s Digital Creative Director, Ben Leeves. “But the real challenge was taking Consider’s open-source Content Management System (CMS) and building a great little engine which gave the client full control over their site.”
We created a members’ area of the site where people could log in and edit their accounts. We also developed forums where members could chat about the issues which were important to them. An email newsletter capability meant members could be kept informed of upcoming meetings, while a calendar made details of past meetings easily accessible. Finally, we ensured that all relevant publications, meeting notes and other documents were fully downloadable.
The client came to us with quite an open brief and our focus on improving the online relationship with users has proved the right strategy. Existing members took to the new site with ease and new members are joining all the time.
