We launch Gilkes Energy website

We've been working hard these last few weeks on a new website for Gilkes Energy, part of Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon who design and manufacture Hydroelectric turbines and ancillary equipment.

Climate Change and renewable energy sources are in the news almost every day now with organisations, landowners and individuals all looking for ways to create or use greener energy. We were asked to design and build a website for Gilkes Energy http://www.gilkesenergy.com/, which helps their clients to develop and finance hydropower projects.

Clean and simple design

The site has a clean, fresh look that reflects the nature of the energy these projects produce. Ben Leeves, Creative Director, comments: “This is a new, refreshing and exciting area for Consider to be working in. It has certainly been a challenge packing so much into one website, while keeping the design clean and inspirational enough to inspire landowners to contact Gilkes Energy”.

Search engine friendly

Each website we design and build is based on our Open Source Content Management system, which allows our clients to manage their content and also, importantly, to optimise their sites for search engines. You can find out more at: http://www.considercms.co.uk/

Government investment for hydropower

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) recently announced that it has finalised the Feed-in Tariff scheme, showing strengthened tariffs for hydro technologies. This indicates that Gilkes Energy are very likely to be in high demand this year and in the years to come.

"We wanted to take a new approach to the direct mail that targets former donors and Consider’s solution ensured this happened. Although it’s a recent project, we’ve immediately had an uptake in donations from these mailers."
