Consider does Bittersweet Symphony. Sort of.
It's a good thing doing work for charity, it's even better if you can have a bit of a laugh and look ridiculous in the process. Fortunately, we have both these bases covered with the video we put together in aid of this year's Save the Children Week (25 April – 1 May).
To raise money for the event, the charity launched the 'Strictly Save the Video Star' competition, or basically film your own spoof music video and upload to Save the Children's YouTube page for the 'delight' of millions.
After a (very) brief discussion, we concluded raising money for such a superb cause whilst playing the idiot was something we rather enjoyed – as you might suspect from our submission. We chose to showcase the leafy streets of Putney in the style of The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony. We are legally obliged to point out, no lamposts were harmed in the making of this film.
You can donate to the charity through our Just Giving page here (go on, it'll only encourage us).
Thanks very much and enjoy.
NEWS UPDATE
After a superb and nail-biting Oscar-style evening at Save the Children HQ, we're overjoyed to say that we managed to grab the award for Best Male Performance. Creative Director, Ian, however was keen not to let the fame go to his head on the night saying, "I'd like to thank my dog, my postman, my family for their constant support..." When asked for comment, he replied modestly, "Speak to my agent". He is currently sitting on his own in the studio.
