Looking back on a year of growthBy Phil Lindsay
Here at Consider, we’re already wrapped up in our wintry woollies - and not just because the boiler broke!
We'll be shutting up shop at midday on Thursday 19th December for our team lunch, then off on our holidays until Thursday 2nd January 2020.
In the meantime, here's a quick update on some of the highlights of a big year, here at Consider HQ.
The lovely people we work with
This year’s seen us celebrate a number of client anniversaries. As founders, Alistair, Ben, Ian and I are so grateful for your support over the years.
You've always pushed us to be better - and helped us grow as an agency, and as people. It’s been a privilege working with you: we can’t wait to help you solve 2020’s challenges!
Welcome to the fold
This year has also seen our client base expand as our team grows. And our newest clients are broadening our horizons and challenging us in new ways. So welcome to the family Barnardo’s, Diabetes UK, Fight for Sight, Marie Curie and National Trust for Scotland.
Some fresh faces...
Our new Senior Account Manager, Emily brings a wealth of experiential campaign experience to Consider.
Designer Alex built an impressive portfolio working in-house at Save the Children and The Barbican. We’re delighted to be welcoming such a talented visual communicator to the team.
And last but not least, Senior Account Manager Max learnt the ropes in the commercial sector and brings a unique perspective to our Client Services team.
It's so exciting to see such an array of talent joining our agency.
...and some sad goodbyes
These last few months have also seen Lexy and James make big decisions about their careers and choose to move on from the Consider family.
Senior Account Manager Lexy jetted off to Japan to work on the Rugby World Cup in September (not that we’re jealous...).
And Creative Director James will be returning to freelance life in January. James was our first CD outside of the original founders and has helped transform our Creative Team. A tireless champion of original thinking, and a fantastic person to have around the office, he’ll be missed.
James will be a hard act to follow, but we’ve made good progress in recruiting a replacement: keep an eye out for exciting news in January...
Launching new ventures
This year also saw the launch of two new ventures from the Consider stable.
Our unique Social Pops tool lets your supporters share personalised videos to boost their fundraising.
And we’re also very excited to expand our digital offering with the launch of Exemplify, our very own specialist B2B digital agency. The Exemplify team are already delivering the very best in digital marketing, CRM, advertising, email and video for a range of clients and sectors. More news to follow on Exemplify in the New Year!
Learning what's really important
So it's been a busy few months, a time packed full of challenges - the usual highs and lows of agency life. At times like these, it's easy to lose focus on what's important.
For me, it's listening, really listening to what's going on around us. We're at our best when the conversations are face to face – not over email – and with fresh coffee of course! In a world full of ever tighter deadlines and higher expectations this might seem like a luxury. But when the plan changes, that mutual understanding makes all the difference to the outcomes.
Look forward to catching up on the other side! Happy Christmas all!
